i just cut up a whole pineapple, and washed and de-stemmed 2 lbs. of cherries. it was a very zen-like experience. i bought the pineapple to begin slowly adding it to phoebe's diet. she's been having pooping problems lately, and i've learned that rabbits need certain enzymes, found in pineapple and yogurt, which help break down indigestible things, such as fur. cats have it easy - they can haaaacckggh up their hairballs. bunnies, on the other hand, just kind of sit there with a rumbly belly, and stop eating. if you don't get them to a vet within 24 to 48 hours, they can become very sick and die. which, of course, is why all the vets in the nyc area hold hours only on tuesday and thursday. so if your bunny gets sick on, say, saturday, you're probably not going to have a rabbit any longer. nice.

what do you do with a whole pineapple, after you cut a few rabbit-sized portions off it? you throw it on a pineapple pizza, duh.
